Identical twin brothers Keith and Ken Cornell
founded Cornell Orthotics & Prosthetics in 1985. Sharing an uncommon
dedication for excellence in their field, the brothers have steadily
developed Cornell Orthotics & Prosthetics into a multi-site, patient-care
practice in the greater Boston area.
,
Keith Cornell received
his pre med undergraduate degree from Saint Anselm's College and
completed his postgraduate prosthetic degrees at Northwestern and
New York Universities. He was certified by ABC in 1980 and earned
his Fellow from the American Academy of O&P in 2000. He was elected
to the AOPA (American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association) board of
directors in 1999 and is past president. Locally, he is past
president of the Massachusetts Society of O&P and currently is working
for improved prosthetic insurance coverage. He was instrumental
in the filing of H376, the "Massachusetts Prosthetic Parity Law."
Passionate about his field, he has a long history of active participation
in clinical, business and patient organizations. Keith is frequently
involved in instructional forums and in-service educational programs.
He served as an adjunct instructor for TEC Industries and is certified
by Otto-Bock to provide the C-Leg (a computerized knee system for
patients with above-the-knee amputations). He is considered a specialist
with componentry from numerous leading prosthetic vendors such as
Flex-Foot, Springlite, Otto Bock, College Park, and Iceross. He is the sole Massachusetts practicioner providing the revolutionary above-knee Marlo Ortiz Socket Design.

Ken Cornell earned his bachelor degree in
biology at St. Anselm's College in Manchester, NH and received postgraduate
degrees in orthotics and prosthetics at UCLA in 1980. Ken is currently
president of the New England Chapter of the American Academy of
Orthotists and Prosthetists and is a member of the Advisory Board
of AOPA's Almanac (a monthly industry magazine). He lectures regularly
at local colleges and hospitals. "I find myself more motivated than
ever. I have always considered it an honor to work in the fields
of orthotics and prosthetics. Each patient challenges me to apply
my experience, knowledge and skill to achieve the highest level
of activity possible for that person. For some, that means playing
sports, for some it is shopping with family and friends, for others
it is being able to walk independently around the house without
pain." Credo: To take the time to listen and understand, then formulate
a plan to make a greater improvement than expected.
