Otto Bock Health Care introduced the C-Leg®
microprocessor-controlled knee-shin system to the United States
in 1999. Since then, hundreds of wearers have benefited from this
quantum leap in prosthetics - a dramatic improvement over all other
prosthetic knees. Featuring unique microprocessor swing and stance
phase control, customized settings and constant readjustments, the
C-Leg is truly one of a kind. The efficiency of the C-Leg's swing
phase dynamics, even at varying walking speeds and on uneven terrain,
provides a secure, natural, and efficient gait.Getting started is
easy. Using PC-based custom software, a C-Leg qualified prosthetist
customizes the C-Leg®'s settings to fit the individual's optimal
gait pattern. The wearer is also trained and observed while walking
on level and uneven terrain and down stairs. In addition, a second
set of settings can be created for a different activity, which the
wearer can access by simply tapping their toe - offering choice
without mechanical changes!

Exclusively provided in Massachusetts by Cornell O&P
We are proud to introduce a revolutionary, new, above-knee socket design created by Marlo Ortiz, CP (M) of Guadalajara, Mexico.
Prosthetist Marlo Ortiz has trimmed down the back wall of the socket to make it more cosmetic in the buttocks area. What evolved is a socket configuration not only more cosmetic, but with an improved range of motion, comfort, suspension and control.
With the buttocks cutout, no weight-bearing occurs in this area. With no restrictions or interference from the hamstring muscles in the back of the socket, a closer fitting of the outside wall on the hip is obtained. An exact fit is critical to the success of the socket. We at Cornell have obtained the necessary educational requirements and are fully qualified to fit this new socket design for our clients.
Otto Bock Healthcare is excited to announce a
prosthetic breakthrough! Intensive research exploring residual limb
volume fluctuation evolved into a new technology called VASS™ -
Vacuum Assisted Socket System.
This technology is available with the Harmony™ Suspension System.
The Harmony products will:

Reduce forces
to the residual limb and liner |
 |
 |
|

Increase suspension
and proprioception- |

This unique microprocessor-controlled hand gives
patients a greater sense of confidence knowing they have a firm
grip on any object in hand. When the object is about to slip, sensors
in the thumb and finger lever detect changes in the object's weight
or center of gravity. The data is then transmitted to a microprocessor
that controls grip force automatically.
A brief myoelectric opening signal stops the Sensor Hand's auto
grasp response. A longer myoelectric signal opens the hand. Two
independent measurement and regulation systems proportionally control
grip speed and grip force.
The Flexi-Grip function lets patients use their sound hand to reposition
an object without using electrodes to open and close the Sensor
Hand.
The grip appears flexible, like a natural hand. Low-cost, color-coded
coding plugs make it easy to determine the control mode. Choose
from eight control modes, including proportional opening and proportional
closing from a single electrode site.
